In conversation with my Facebook group this week – Style with Gail – I asked members about their plans for shopping this spring. One of the ladies has a big date coming up in her diary. Her son’s graduation ceremony, being held at The Royal Albert Hall in March.
March is a tricky time for planning ahead especially when it comes to outfits and what to wear. We’re starting to see lighter spring clothes online and in shops, yet we shouldn’t discount the reality that the day could be bitter cold. It has been known to snow in March.
With a request to figure out some outfits that worked with a big coat and Dr Martens I set to work.
The first outfit focuses on introducing colour to dark winter pieces you may have in your wardrobe. The accessories elevate the look and I adore the green crystal necklace that will catch the light. Outfit two is slightly more hopeful that the weather is warmer and a ‘big coat’ could be opted out for a classic spring trench. While the addition of a ‘party’ pink bag softens the edgier combination of animal print dress and DMs. Outfit three focuses on a streamlined look, which can be worn under a big coat. Here I’ve focused on including some basic pieces that together form a polished look, but broken down create a core capsule wardrobe for spring 2022.
