A new season is on its way and I for one am kind of thrilled. Perhaps it’s because we’ve enjoyed a hot summer, so the air turning crisp is welcome, or that 2020 has been one big Groundhog Day, but I’m desperate to move forward. September kicks off tomorrow and Autumn is not far behind. Bring. It. On.
A change in weather can only mean one thing, a wardrobe switchover. If you’re panicking about what to wear, especially as lockdown eases, fear not, I’ll be sharing ideas here.
Without further ado, here’s my top ideas to get you started.
4 Items for Autumn
A chunky boot.
Step into the new season with a solid, stylish step. Chunky boots are a surefire way to ensure you don’t get trench foot during the rainy season and luckily they’re cutting the mustard in the fashion stakes too.
I have this simple pair from Dr Martens. They remind me of my youth. However, visit any retailer and there will be a version to suit you. Team with straight jeans or maxi skirt and you’ll have an outfit to last you through to March.
This season there are a number of lumberjack style checks in retailers such as Mango and Zara. I’m sticking with the two I have, camo and a simple khaki shacket. They go with everything and I just love the way shackets don’t add too much bulk. Alternatively, shackets don’t have lining so you can add chunky sweaters underneath, which you can’t do with a puffer.
If you have an hour glass body shape, choose a shacket with a belt, so that you don’t lose your waist.
A Link Chain Necklace.
Happy with your capsule wardrobe, but want a little update? Add a chunkier necklace, as a nod to a new season look. Rebooting many outfits for Autumn/Winter 2020 a chunky necklace, like this one from & Other Stories, is a simple and non-expensive way to update your total look with just one easy piece.
The Sweet Knit.
Feeling good and looking dreamy, a soft knit in a sweet colour is perfect segue way into the new season. Wear it over a cami and team it with faux leather joggers and you’ve got an outfit that will take you from sofa to bar. Just add heels and a pair of hoops if you head out.
There’s an abundance of designs out there. I love the stylish move to wear a cardi as a sweater for a cute look. There’s also nice cable knit versions from high street retailers.
Hope you like the those 4 ideas for autumn ideas. I’ve more blog posts coming soon to help ease you into Autumn/Winter so do watch this space.
