About Me

Hi!  I’m Gail.

This is my little space on the internet, and I want to invite YOU to join me for some well-earned me-time!

I turned fifty last year.  I wasn’t perturbed about reaching the half century (another year older and a bit creakier, maybe), in fact I got quite excited about it.  I made sure I gave my husband enough cues that he remembered to buy some champagne, I booked us an extra-long weekend on the Med and prepared myself for the good times.

Of course, things don’t always go to plan, do they?  Instead of sailing in to my fifties last year turned into one of the most stressful times of my life and as part of that I needed to take a step back from the blog, while I got to grip with a curve ball.

So, the champagne remains on ice.  Life doesn’t necessarily get any easier as you get older.  You can think you have the answers to all the questions and look forward to an easier ride and then a whole new set of questions land on your doorstep.

On top of trying to keep my career on track, husband happy, health in check, immediate family safe and extended family on-side, there is the small matter of making a real and relevant contribution to the world I live in, keeping my appearance half decent and the ever pressing issue of whether I really have to succumb to a third chin.

Turning fifty has actually just made me adopt an even feistier attitude.  I want even more to find and enjoy my ‘ageless style’, forge ahead with a career of my choosing,  try new hobbies, wear a perfect dress, meet new and interesting people, have fabulous skin, and experience the wonder of travel.

We are told that we should love ourselves for who we are, and I do.  I’m not unhappy.  However, I believe that I  am even happier when I am presenting the best version of myself to the world, according to me.  I also try to be a supportive friend and this is where the blog comes in, cause you’re a friend, right?  So, I’ll be sharing what I learn right here.

It could be work news, lifestyle discussions, the latest mascara (that doesn’t smudge), a cute lipstick that helps you to feel great, or how to keep your husband happy. LOL.  No, you won’t find that here.  But you get the gist, I’ll be documenting what I learn just in case there’s someone else out there who is looking for a little inspiration and answers to questions going around in their head.

No-one said it was going to be easy, but I’m Not Givin In!

Lovin the blog Gail… Yes I’m with you on the make up and lipstick item… Will be trying some new ones and will let you know how I get on…

I find getting older there is a fine line between being fashionable ‘on trend’ and looking like a ‘nolans’ super fan!! One thing I have learnt over the years is ‘grooming’ is very important as long as nails painted, waxed and plucked to an inch on your life you have a hope of knocking a couple of years off that slightly but well earned

I could have written this myself! I absolutely agree that there are not enough bloggers in this 40+ age bracket.
