I found love in a supermarket aisle
Actually, I did! I bumped into SP in an aisle in Asda on New Year’s Eve 2006 and the rest as they say is history. But that’s not what this post is about.
Last week I rushed into Sainers for a pre-made sandwich for my mum and my head swiveled like an owl while running past the Tu Clothing section. Elsewhere in the high street, rails look like a tip with sales jumble all over the place. Here, it was wall to wall new stock.
With no spare time I had to keep on running, but the idea that there were a few bits I might like stayed at the back of my mind and the next day I headed back.
With a trip to Iceland coming up, I’m still looking for cosy clothes, which isn’t that easy when spring fashions are coming through. Here though, I found a few pieces that I really fell in love with…
Who doesn’t like a Breton sweater? Especially one flaunting a big kiss! Made with sweatshirt material, it is made with super cosy material and is mid-weight so hangs a little slouchily. I love it. I bought it. £16!
Like I said, I’ve got a weekend away coming up and I had hoped to pick up a jumper or two in the sales, but a lot of styles were over-sized this season, which I love, but drown a short frame. This jumper ticks all the boxes, it’s super-soft, bright and has a little scallop detail at the hem for added wear appeal. Just £18.
My last choice. Great for Valentine’s Day, but just as easily worn on any given Saturday with a pair of jeans while doing any number of chores. A great weekend shirt, which had lots of interest when I posted it on Instagram. You might notice that this one is slightly too small (size 10), but there wasn’t a 12 available so I didn’t buy this one. I can’t see it online, so if you like it you’ll need to trawl your local store. It’s £18.
Here’s a few other pieces worth looking for while you’re there. These, however, I found online and I really like the first shirt from the Premium collection. It looks like a great, wear-with-everything style and colour for the spring.
