Bring Me Flowers
Sometimes life throws you a curve ball and my mum being poorly the past 10 days has certainly turned my life upside down. Being completely honest, I’m tired and stressed and when my routine goes to pot I’m not at my best. I doubt I’m the only one, right?
My natural instinct when I’m feeling blue is to
buy more red wine! Well it is, but I also reach for the darkest, drabbest clothes my wardrobe has to offer, or worse still, on one particularly bad morning, when I had to rush to mum’s before I’d had my first cup of coffee, pick up whatever was on the floor from the day before and just crack on.
Of course, stress plays a pivotal role in how we look and feel, you should see my hair! But it has made me think and realise that perhaps it is the time to try and step up our game. Perhaps, if we wore brighter, more cheerful clothing, even though life is pulling at our patience levels, we would feel a little better equipped to handle the shizzle.
So yesterday, when I was meeting with a number of different friends that I hadn’t seen in a while, I dressed brightly. Perhaps a little over-the-top (bright yellow, green, blue and tan), but I tell you this, I felt a whole lot better. My face told another story, but lets scroll past that and I at least felt a little more presentable than I had in some days.
A little while ago, I bought this blouse in H&M. Not my normal choice of print, at all. I would never say I was a floral wearing girl. However, I fell in love with the colours in the print and just thought that whatever I wore it with the colour next to my face would help lift me up and it absolutely does. I love this blouse. I would wear it everyday right now, if I could.
It makes me so happy and it cost just £12.99 (I think it’s more expensive if you order it online), so to me worth every penny.
Now, I keep looking for more floral blouses for the winter. If this one works then perhaps I need another one.
I don’t have time, right now, to mooch around the shops, but this morning I’ve had a look online and I really like the first two in the reel below. They also cost less than £20! See what you think and if like me, you need a little pick me up, why not try some flower power. It’s working for me.
Happy shopping and have a fab weekend.
