Dress The Sale
How do you win in the sales? I think it’s about finding classic pieces at reduced prices that make your cost per wear ratio leave you feeling pretty smug. Or, picking up the season’s highlights at knock down prices so that you are on trend right now, and if it falls to pieces at the end of the season, you haven’t wasted a fortune.
Karen Millen for me, comes in the former category. So, this morning, when an email popped into my inbox announcing a further 20% off an already 60% off sale price, I thought I would take a peek and share some ideas with you.
Here’s my top picks of KM dresses in the sale….
This beaut is a classic. It’s available in red, blue and black and reduced from £180 down to £135. A fantastic figure flattering dress, those little cap sleeves are dead handy, helping to give the waist a more nipped in appearance. Want to boss a meeting, wear this? Want a dress in your wardrobe that has you ready for nights outs, weddings, christenings and parties, this fits the bill. You will wear it time and again.
Want to add some curves? Drawing attention to your neck line and waist, while exposing the shoulders will do it. Added va-voom is provided with a side split and monochrome ages well. Another wardrobe classic. Reduced from £215 to £99.
Heading to the Med, or simply shopping down the high street, this dress is knock out, hides a multitude of sins (gotta love those cross-over stripes) and would be perfect with slides, sandals or stilettos. Does anyone still wear the latter? Possibly not, but you know what I mean. This dress also comes in red and white and is reduced from £160 to £99.
Last one, and I’ve gone off piste! I would love to try this on. Every woman needs a dress in her wardrobe that makes her stand out. It doesn’t have to be this one, but perhaps it is for me? It’s a bit special, I think. Flattering colour, panelled stripes in the right places for me, an interesting neckline and the all-important belt to give me a waist.
When visiting the sales, think about the areas you want to accentuate and those you don’t. Armed with this knowledge, make a killing. Ordering online makes sale shopping much more pleasant and stick to the stores you know have sizes that fit your shape and see what you can score. You could make some real savings on wardrobe staples that last you years.
Have a great weekend.
